Taftville provides support for major mill fire in Plainfield
April 28, 2005 - The Town of Plainfield along with over 30 other department battled a major mill fire at the old abandoned Interoyal Mill Complex on Reservoir St. The fire came in around 19:00 hours on and over 30 departments worked over 4 days to extinguish the fire. Taftville provided a engine to cover the Jewett City Station and one engine to support drafting operations and manpower of 9 firefighters for about 8 hours on Wednesday the 29th.

One of Taftville's assignments was to help operate Moosup's EQ-194 on
the "C" side of the mill. Note: the Providence and Worcester trains were
at a halt during this operation
