| Tower & Engine on 7th Alarm Hotel Fire Jan 29, 2008 - At 11:47hrs the Mashantucket Pequot Fire Department was dispatched to 8th flr of the Great Cedar Hotel for a smoke on the 8th floor. MPFD units found fire and smoke emitting from the 9th flr mechanical room of the Great Cedar Hotel. This fire proved to be a difficult fire to access and this fire needed alot of manpower. At 12:21hrs Taftville Tower 25 was requested as the 3rd due 100ft ladder. Tower crews used hoselines to knock down fire on the exterior of the building. ET-22 was added to the assignment later that night to cover Mashantucket headquarters. Crews returned to quarters at around 21:30hrs. MPFD and the state fire marshal investigated. |
