Tanker Strike team to Lebanon House fire Feb 26, 2015 - At 09:12hrs, Taftville was dispatched as a county strike team to assist the Lebanon FD at a house fire on Williams Crossing Rd off RT-32 by the old mushroom farm. The county strike team consists of a numbers of tankers and support engines from around the county to provide water for rural house fires. |
Tower-25 on Lisbon Roof Rescue Feb 23, 2015 - At 10 am this morning, Tower-25 assisted Jewett City Ladder-156 and the Lisbon FD with a person who fell ill on the roof of the Lisbon Home Depot and went into cardiac arrest. CPR was 1st performed by a CSP trooper, then Lisbon FD personnel who administered a defibrillator shock then placed the LUCAS CPR device on the patient. The patient was packaged, loaded on to the tower ladder bucket and lowered to the ambulance stretcher. A very valiant effort was put forth by the CSP, Lisbon FD, Jewett City-156, Taftville Tower-25, and American medic crews. We are unsure of the outcome of this call but we send our thoughts and prayers to the victim and their family. |
Box Truck Fire at Bob's Warehouse Feb 21, 2015 - At 07:55hrs Taftville was dispatched in -4 degree weather to a box truck fire in the loading dock at Bob's warehouse. Car28, ET-22,Tower25 responded and found a box truck well involved. Extension into the building was reported but 25's crew confirmed no extension while 22 attacked the fire. Attic Fire January 3, 2015 - Taftville's 1st building fire of the year came on this day At 9 pm Taftville was dispatched to an attic fire at 10 Maennerchor Ave. Crews arrived on scene to find an active attic fire with a report of 1 occupant still in the building. Engine 21's crews stretched to the fire room while Tower 25's crews conducted a primary search. The occupant was found safely outside and the fire was quickly extinguished in about 15 minutes. No injuries reported. |

Trucks hits pole on Norwich Ave November 30, 2015 -at 20:21hrs Taftville was dispatched to an auto vs pole on Norwich Ave. Units arrived to find a pick up that hit a pole head-on. The injured were treated and transported to the hospital, the road was closed for 2 hrs so NPU could stabilize the pole. The pole will be replaced tomorrow. |
Car hits parked car and rolls over November 8th, 2015 -At approximately 00:10 hours this morning the company was dispatched to the area of 14 South B Street for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Upon arrival crews found one car on its side with the driver still inside. The patient was extricated and transported to Backus Hospital. |
Two Auto Accidents in 2 hours. Sept 13, 2015 - At 12:22 Car 2, ET- 21, 22 and the Rescue responded to the area of 193 Canterbury Turnpike for the report of a car into a house. Units arrived and found no injuries. At 13:57 the same units responded to the area of 136 Hunters Road for a motorcycle accident. Units found an uninjured motorcyclist on scene. Units cleared and returned to service |
Auto vs Pole Aug 25, 2015 - At 16:30hrs Taftville was dispatched to Hunters Rd for a auto vs pole. Car-28, ET-21, Res-2, ET-22 arrived to find a auto vs pole with gas leak and minor injures. The injuries were treated and leak controlled. Road closed for 45minutes. |
Sheas Lane Garage Fire Aug 22, 2015 - Car 20, ET-21, ET-22 & Truck 25 with M/A from Occum & Yantic responded to 29 Shea's Ln for a reported garage fire. Upon Car 20's arrival reported a working fire, fire was under control in 50 minutes but units were on scene for 2.5 hrs. Cause is under investigation by the Norwich FMO. |
